Dear friends,
I wish to share with you one more musical effort, before leaving for summer holidays.
One year ago my brother-in-law Bruno suffered of severe disease, mostly due to his immoderate lifestyle.
He asked me to write a piece celebrating his recovery.
Since he loves the sound of timpani, I can't resist to add a touch of evil: I put no kettledrums until the solo passage of him feeling scared to death before his awakening in intensive care unit. Then they tacet again u…

I'm going to the DCI quarterfinals in my home town of Michigan City, Indiana in August. Looking forward to an exciting time there! Ther's nothing quite like that wall of brass hitting you head-on!
I also hope to compose some more before the Fall semester begins at Kentucky Wesleyan College Aug. 30th. To see some of the stuff I've already done, check out praisewinds.com. Do any of the rest of you have the problem of too many ideas? If so, how do you prioritize them?

I was runner-up in the first Notion Orchestral Composition Contest, and have been using notion as my 1st choice for orchestral writing ever since. Because of the beauty of the scores and awesome sounds, I have just signed a publishing agreement for 2 of my orchestral compositions- "Etude, Brute?" and "Selah for Strings." I LOVE writing music; and I LOVE writing with notion!

Hi all!
This is my first attempt to use the NTempo staff in Notion, I am spending a lot of time putting in my old music into Notion and trying to get some life into them, so this piece of piano music I wrote in 1987 and now I wrote it note by note in Notion and, for the first time I used the NTempo staff to record a performance, it is really a fantastic feature Notion has!!

Hi friends.
A beautiful record has just landed into my cd player.
It features three opuses from Swedish composer Natanael Berg:
Traumgewalten,
Pezzo sinfonico and
Höga Visan.
Impressive! It left me speechless!

Hi all.
Hjälmaren is the first complete piece I wrote in Notion. It took me one month and a half to compose and sketch out.
Even in its raw shape, I wish to share it as an hommage to mr Poa Sorlin as a wish for the uprising spring.
You see it needs for better rendering, mix and eventually to be composed again from scratch.
Comments will be of great help.

All of the scores that I post tend to be for short movies that we plan to post on Youtube and Dailymotion. These aren't comedy movies, to be clear. I asked myself a while ago why people don't create serious movies with depth and real acting. I came to the conclusion on this question that kids don't have a long enough attention span to make a movie that has drama in it. You may tell yourself that I'm a kid as well, and I probably have those traits as well. You're correct on some aspects, but not…

I just ordered notion 3, an upgrade from progression. I can't wait for it to get here! I should have gone and paid for faster shipping. A week is too long. :( Can't wait to write some soul and some ska!

Hi all.
Just added a suite of four short pieces (being the fifth the repetition of n. 1) I wrote as an hommage to a friend to be performed with her brothers, three amateur musicians playing flutes and violin.
I envy her a lot for being part of a family where everyone can play one or more instruments, so your friends can write a suite for you.
Hope you will enjoy.
Ciao
Ps. Go to my page for listen to in the right order...

Acoustic Avalon is a guitar event in Leicester.
The atmosphere was buzzing with excitement as the first day was underway. Upstairs was mostly acoustic guitars whereas the main floor was the stage, cafe and a few stands ... like NOTIONs.

The performances were varied. It was good to hear and see live music at a show. There was a…

Living in London and having too many choices in concerts in any one night can be quite stressful.
Since I haven't seen any bands in a while, this weekend is a double bill. On saturday Gary Numan is at Shepard's Bush Empire aka O2 Empire. Sunday I get to see Cornershop. Their last show was disappointing but the QE Theatre was not suitable. The first Cornershop concert I saw was in Vancouver at a club of only 300 people - fantastic.
